Outside of work I’ve taken up various projects on a freelance, volunteering or self-initiated basis. The below showcases selected projects that demonstrate my skills and interests.
Whilst I’m currently engaged in a full-time role, I’m open to project-based design opportunities depending on the brief and my availability.
Role: Illustration, Cover Design
In 2021 I was tasked with supporting author Keith Fong on producing his first book - a concise illustrated guide about the internet and its history. I worked with Keith to create over thirty diagrams spread across seven chapters, each summarising and visualising a small part of how the internet came to be. I also worked on a full-page illustration featured at the end of the book and designed the cover.
The book is currently available for purchase on Amazon and other platforms.
Role: UI Design, Prototyping, User Testing, Workshop Facilitation
In 2018 I was brought on as a freelance UI designer to support Snook on their work for Hackney Council. The project aim was to simplify the content and design of key service pages for local business owners and reduce their pain points. I worked in a team with two service designers and a content designer.
During the project we spoke with existing users to understand their needs and frustrations with the current pages, then mapped out their journey flows together in a workshop. We then defined a simplified flow and created prototypes for testing, resulting in clarified content outlining the council's service offerings and overall easier navigation.
Role: Graphic Design, Illustration, Layout
Throughout several years I’ve worked with Chinese Church in London (CCiL) to offer support for their graphic design needs.
